The Society is registered with The Registrar of Societies, Govt. of Uttarakhand, India under the Society Registration Act, 1860 (as amended) vide Registration no. UK06003122019002870. Late Shri Jairam Singh Tomar was born to a poor family known as ‘Mundran’ (named on local tradition) family of  Koruwa Village In Chakrata Tehsil of  Dehradun District. Chakrata being located at an altitude of 2118 M (6949 Ft), farming and animal husbandry were the major sources of livelihood to his family. His childhood was full of struggle and difficulties, yet, despite all hardships he managed to complete his school education from Nagthat and Kalsi schools, respectively. Later he joined the service with Uttar Pradesh Government. Having experienced and witnessed the tough life of the people belonging to Tribal Hills and the hardships people were undergoing in managing livelihood, he initiated various social reforms in his native village as well as in other villages of the area. As a Social Reformer and more as a Visionary, he was well-aware that only education can change the Society and consequently can uplift livelihood of the people.

As the literacy rate in the villages was extremely low, eventually, he determined that it is a must for every child to attend school. Apart from his contribution in education, he always opposed various social evils and was vocal to initiate the reforms. Holding a generous determination throughout his life, he supported the poor and needy people. In the journey of his life, his initiatives and actions were accompanied and supported throughout by his wife Smt. Deepa Devi who did not just take care of household and farming activities, but also supported him in all his social endeavours.

Besides his vision of providing education to all strata of society, Late Shri Jairam Singh Tomar was keen to generate the employment at local level. The very idea of empowerment of the people with their own small-scale village level industries was to help them to get the employment for themselves, generate employment and prevent migration from the villages. The Empowered youth in villages had advantage of continuing farming along with these small-scale industries and make their life sustainable. Accordingly, a unit consisting of Floor-Mill, Rice-Mill and Mustard oil Expeller was established in 1989 by two of his sons in Koruwa Village. The entire geography of around more than 100 Villages in Kalsi and Chakrata Block areas were benefitted of this small initiative of Shri Jairam Singh Tomar Ji. Earlier to the start of this village level small unit In Koruwa Village, the farmers used travel either Kalsi or Vikasnagar areas for all such milling works and had to spend lots of money on their transport, boarding lodging etc. and also had to waste their precious time. By having such initiative in a well-connected Koruwa Village, the poor farmers got direct advantage of saving time and money. Setting up of this small unit became a trendsetter and exemplary to many other villages and consequently many Youths of area and adjoining villages also started setting up many such units and explore other ventures such as hotels, shops, restaurant and tourism industry. Today Koruwa Village is the most happening hub of various commercial activities and a promising destination for future endeavours. Many Youth of Koruwa Village have adopted the occupation within the village and it’s among the villages with least migration.
